The week started off amazingly well, we met so many new friends, but the majority of my time was spent in a Mexican hospital after a beach accident. I spent multiple days there and had to fly back on my own after my friends left. I am taking the time to post this to share with you the importance of having trip insurance, even on a short vacation with friends.
I won’t disclose what happened to me out of fear of embarrassing myself, however, let’s just say it could have been prevented.
For once I actually listened to my parents when planning the trip. They pushed me to buy Emergency Medical Trip Insurance and the best part was that I wasn’t out-of-pocket for the huge bill I received after my accident. PLUS the trip insurance covered me past the expiry date, since I was still hospitalized.
The hospital staff and the insurance company were very helpful along the way, and I was reimbursed for the medical costs within a few weeks after returning home, and most importantly I am still in one piece!
So a heads up to all of you wanting a worry free spring break, TRIP INSURANCE IS A MUST.
