Want to know why? Here’s my story…
It all started last year while I was getting ready to take my well deserved annual vacation to Ireland to visit my extended family. As I was getting ready to leave for my trip, my business partner had an unexpected medical scare. We have a small business that can’t run with both of us away, so I had to cancel my trip. I lost all of the money I had paid for my airline tickets and travel accommodations because I didn’t have trip insurance that covered this cancellation.
For this reason, I decided to purchase a different type of trip insurance this year. I upgraded to an All-Inclusive Worldwide Plan, just in case my business partner’s health got worse again prior to my departure. I chose an All-Inclusive Worldwide Plan because it combines Emergency Medical travel insurance coverage with Trip Cancellation & Trip Interruption coverage.
TWO WEEKS LATER…
It turns out my head was in the right place! My business partner was hospitalized a week before my departure date. Luckily my trip insurance policy:
A) reimbursed trip cost payments and deposits minus any refunds I was credited
AND
B) paid my cancellation penalties imposed by the hotel I booked my accommodations with.
Additionally, my friend and travel companion purchased this coverage as well and wanted to continue their travels. They were entitled to:
C) paid expenses incurred by THEM for their next occupancy level
I have to say that I was well covered because even if I had decided to go on this trip my All-Inclusive Worldwide Plan would have:
D) covered the fee that my travel agency charges to change my travel date
ON TOP OF
E) covering my catch-up fees (as long as the catch-up fee is less than the cost to cancel my trip)
UPDATE! Everything worked out perfectly. I was reimbursed after my claim AND my business partner was released from the hospital.
I was always told to pass on good fortune, so here you go everyone: http://www.travelance.ca/ to learn more.
THANK YOU TRAVELANCE!
